A need for such Organization
There are many organizations working for youth in India. Most of them are not run by youth and doesn’t have an openness that youth can create there own structure and take initiative according to their own needs and creativity.
Youth today has very pressing and demanding circumstances, their need for peer support and understanding is not taken care of most of the contemporary organizations.
Large number of youth after getting very high quality and highly professional skills in their early twenties, they start earning huge sums of money and find themselves lost in the consumer and hedonistic world before knowing what they are doing with their lives they get trapped in vicious circles of fun and enjoyments and damage their lives irreparably. For such youth, moral and realistic view of life is a very deep and urgent need which is not addressed in educational systems as well as government or social institutions in India. Therefore, there is an urgent need of the moral education and better understanding of human life taught in new and appropriate ways for the youth.
There is a need of support, guidance and availability of resources for the youth who can not get it easily. Most of the available trainings are not affordable for the youth from marginalized communities. Our network is committed to make intellectual and material resources available with no or minimum costs.
The basic philosophy behind it
Human life has a much higher purpose than what we normally think of. This higher purpose can be introduced while we are still young so that we feel satisfaction towards the end of lives, that we lived our lives for meaning and purpose.
This highest ideal of human life is exemplified by the Buddha. Buddha’s teaching shows us the way to live our life meaningfully. It helps us to break out of our own selfish shells and make it vast and beneficial to all.
In short the concept of personality development which is used quite a lot in India these days can be shaped by Buddha’s teachings as explored by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar. His vision of human life and the perfect human society based on liberty, equality and fraternity are the essence of Buddha’s teaching applied in today’s world. Buddha and Dr.B.R.Ambedkar are our ideals and we would like to follow these ideals for oneself and for the benefit of the whole world. By following them we are aspiring to make this world better place for peaceful living and growth.
Our goal is to help youth to gain the confidence that they are the best resources to cultivate their lives. A confidence that it is fully in their hands to achieve what they want to achieve. Our aim is to create conditions and structures that would give them direct experience and confidence of such kind.
We also want to promote the value of making the resources of all sorts freely available for each other. This would help them understand that "a gift of human talent to others is a gift to oneself". We become sharper and wiser by sharing it. Teaching others also test your ability and knowledge which is very crucial for development and self confidence. We are committed to provide such platforms for youth.
The training of morality in life is very important. We are committed to provide this training. We are committed to create conditions for the youth of India so that they are safe from destroying their own lives through violence, burocratic corruptions, sexual abuses, drugs and intoxicants.
Through this network we are committed to give them a training and experience of leadership.
How we work?
The responsibility of action and initiative lies in the hand of our members. They can function as independent unit of the organization supported by such other independent units in the network.
The most important unit of all is the task group which is the collection of minimum four (4) and maximum ten (10) youth ranging from 15-35 yrs of age. They come together on weekly basis for at least for 2hrs. They have two major tasks to perform, self development and helping others.
For the self-development groups cultivate friendship among themselves, understand each other better, try to create support for each other to face difficult circumstances and make appropriate decisions for their own lives. For this purpose we have a list of activities that can be performed in a task group. This also helps individuals to develop leadership qualities, peer support and abilities to work with teams.
For the second task, we suggest task groups to take on smaller or bigger activities once or twice a year for the benefit of other youth or any other section of society. We generally encourage that these activities should be limited to one or two only, so that youngsters have enough experience of team work and altruistic dimension of their life and protect them from going to extreme enthusiasm and thereby negligence of the priorities of education in their lives.
Representative of these task groups form a group of maximum ten to make a ‘Resource group’. These Resource Groups receive trainings from senior members of the network to develop leadership qualities. They cultivate ability to handle conflicts in task groups, to create more harmonious atmosphere and team spirit.
Some of the resource members with appropriate management and technical skills are chosen as coordinators and district secretaries to take on practical responsibilities in the district.

Our District Units
For the sake of convenience a network of groups of any district of any state will be considered as one independent Branch of the network. In addition to that any youth organization, whose membership is more than 300, can be given a status of independent District, e.g. university like JNU will be considered as one independent District. Each District will be eligible to select the all round personality amongst it’s members who will be a member of youth parliament and a candidate for the National Presidentship.
What is Youth Parliament?
Youth parliament is assembly of individuals selected by Districts. Parliament is elected every 2yrs. They meet twice a year for two weeks each, for their parliamentary sessions. They choose a council of 10 members which is called the “National Council”. A National President, Vice-President, General Secretary and 7 Council Members shall be chosen out of a council. This council will govern the organization for 2yrs. They shall create and run the national programs, represent the organization internationally, organize National Conferences and so on.
NNBY will be connected with World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth(WFBY) their representatives will participate in the bi-annual conference of WFBY. NNBY will also be connected with the organization working for youth of east or west. NNBY will generate coordination and collaboration with such organization. NNBY will draw attention of international community towards the issues of under marginalized community of youth and generate support for their development.
A National Convention will be organized every year for next few years, and then it will be biannual. Different regions will function as hosts for National Conventions. State conventions will be organized once a year. Different districts will be hosts for state conventions. There will be regional gatherings every six months.
Throughout a year different Task groups will run training programs suitable to their needs.
The National council will run training programs to educate its senior members to train new members in joining and working in the network.
Training in practice of the Dhamma is a regular feature of our trainings.
Rules and Regulations
We have procedures to accept or terminate its memberships, select representatives of the task groups, to select different office bearers and to run different meetings in the network. Minimum rules are created to keep the organization in place, rest of the procedures are left to the mutual trust and understanding of its members in their respective areas.
No single entity in the network is responsible to fund any activity in the network. Task groups are responsible to generate their own funds to run their activities. Each district will decide as to how to support task groups and help the flow of financial resources in their district. National council will raise funds for training and up-keeping of its office and to provide necessary trainings in the network.
